My Work: Design

point and line

This is my Point and Line drawing from the school year of 2019-2020. The method used was stippling and crosshatching with a sharpie to make the shapes and create volume. My piece is a rendition of a picture I took myself while on a trip in Tampa-Bay. This piece was a challenge for me, having never attempted this method beforehand, however I feel it turned out well.

2 and 3 point perspective

This is my 2- and 3-point perspective rendering of a lively futuristic city from the school year of 2019-2020. While making this the objective was the create some type of landscape using 2 and/or 3-point perspective. I added color and vibrancy through Prisma colored pencils. My intention was to use a lot of color and different shapes/structures throughout while also incorporating elements of energy and movement through the zig-zag lines I refer to as “heartbeats”.

Proportion and scale

This is my proportion and scale final project for the school year of 2019-2020. My original idea was it to represent a highway bridge over water in a sunny state like Florida. I drew my inspiration from a previous trip I took to Florida in the summer of 2019. I loved the way the bridges in Tampa Fl. stretch over the gulf and therefore went for a covered bridge style. Noting this, there were some difficulties I faced in making this, as in a paper for the model not being the best median in terms of stiffness and not holding. Even though it did not meet my vision I think the piece created it own personality along the way and turned out to be extremely unique.

rhythm and movement

This is my model created to represent rhythm, repetition, movement and unity in the school year of 2019-2020. In this piece the way I displayed movement was through the strips of foam-core. They are all the same length and mounted to the base in a spiral shape with hot glue. The way they fall throughout the piece is natural. While creating this model I wanted to find an organic way to manipulate my median. I wanted it to display movement in sense that tall grass blows in the wind or a spiral from spinning the water off a damp umbrella. It turned out very well and one of my favorite pieces.

Upcycle Project

This was my 2020 end of year school project of my choice. I chose to upcycle a pair of large men’s jeans from the thrift store and turn them into a jacket. To see the steps and process fully detailed of how I made it click the Power-Point file below.
