9th GRADE

My 9th grade self....

This year in particular was really challenging for me but I learned from my mistakes. In the beginning of this year, I had such low expectations of just how challenging high school would be and of myself. I did not think it would be different from last year or believe I could do it. When we started I did not do my homework and ended up pushing it off to the last second instead of giving it my best effort. I thought that I could slide by as if it was still 8th grade.  Though I soon learned In high school, they hold very high expectations of you to be responsible and do your best on your own. Last year in math I hit a low point, I did not get a grade higher than a C for the whole year and this grade determined my mindset. I dug myself a whole and did not want to climb out of it, and that is how I entered 9th grade thinking. Then we started learning about “Growth Mindsets”, it actually helped me in more than one class. I held a B in math this year and am passing for the first time in my life (legit no exaggeration). So far, I have improved significantly in the way I view my homework and work we do in general. I believe that because of this new outlook on the work we do in school I can be ready for 10th grade and pass.
